FROM SURVING TO THRIVING: STRATEGIES FOR SUPPORTING FOSTER CARE STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOLS
Description

This session will explore how school leaders can effectively support court-involved students, with a spotlight on the role of the Children’s Courthouse Education Liaison Office (CCELO). Participants will gain insight into how CCELO advocates for students navigating the foster care and juvenile justice systems, and how schools can collaborate with this vital resource. The session will also highlight practical, school-based strategies to promote stability, academic progress, and a sense of belonging for foster care youth. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how to lead with equity and empathy to positively impact some of our most vulnerable students.
