Administrative Director, Department of Title I Administration
Ms. Montgomery is a career educator with 29 years of experience in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She began her career with the Department of Title I Administration in the year 2000, after having been in the classroom as a mathematics teacher for almost 8 years. During her twenty-two year tenure in the Department of Title I Administration, she has held several positions: Curriculum Support Specialist, Instructional Supervisor, District Supervisor, Executive Director, District Director, and currently servings as Administrative Director. Each position has been foundational in developing her into an action-oriented administrator focused on expanding and implementing extraordinary programs that assist and engage the community districtwide. She has experience in developing innovative and effective methods for achieving department and district goals. Ms. Montgomery has demonstrated expert leadership in fostering partnerships with community organizations to build mutually beneficial relationships between schools, communities, and families. She has also facilitated the coordination and integration of other federal programs and initiatives such as the Neglected and Delinquent Programs, the Homeless Assistance Program, and the Chess2Think Initiative to increase stakeholder involvement, maximize resources, eliminate the duplication of services, and empower and engage parents and families in support of high academic achievement. As Administrative Director, in the Department of Title I Administration, she continues to support and implement department and district strategic goals that contribute towards Miami-Dade County Public Schools' consistent rise in student achievement and becoming one of the highest-achieving school districts in the State and the nation.
