Greetings, My name is Robert D. Hoel and I have worked for Miami Dade Country Public schools for 23 years. I started as a Substitute teacher and intern at Miami Southridge Senior High School and upon graduating from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education, I was hired to teach at World History at Miami Southridge. After working with struggling readers in history, I knew I needed to expand my skills so I returned to school and earned a Masters Degree in Reading and ESE from the University of Miami. I eventually became a reading teacher and reading coach and worked with the staff to bridge the gap between content area instruction and reading skills. Upon finishing my educational leadership courses, I earned a promotion to Assistant Principal and assigned to Frank C. Martin K-8 Center. I have participated in writing the School Improvement Plan at both Miami Southridge and Frank C. Martin K-8 Center. Over the past 12 years while at Frank C. Martin K-8 Center, I have coordinated with the principal, leadership team, and EESAC to write the school improvement plan, monitor it’s implementation, and guide the reflection process.
