Entering my 18th year in education, I truly believe that educating children is a calling and my steps have truly been ordered in my educational journey. As a leader, I strive to epitomize the ideals of servant leadership. My educational journey began as a product of Miami-Dade County Public Schools in the first graduating class at Dr. Michael Krop Senior High. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and from the University of Phoenix with a master's in educational studies. I began teaching at North Miami Senior High in 2006 as a reading teacher. I remained there for ten years and taught ELA, Creative Writing, College Summit, Journalism, ACT Prep and served as Activities Director, Cheerleading Coach, PAL Tutoring Coordinator, Senior Class Sponsor, Student Government sponsor, Professional Development Liaison, Poetry Club Sponsor and Newspaper and Yearbook Sponsor. In 2016, I moved to Georgia and worked in Bibb County at Southwest High School. I taught ELA, Journalism and AP Language and Composition and served as an Instructional Coach, ELA Department Chair, REACH Scholar Sponsor, New Teacher Mentor, Get Better Faster Coach and Title I Family Engagement Facilitator. In 2020, I served at Carol City Middle School for two years in the capacity of the Verizon Technology Coach and later as the Dean of Discipline, Testing Chairperson, Social Studies Department Chairperson and Activities Director. Currently, I am a Curriculum Support Specialist on the Support and Impact Team with the Education Transformation Office. I am certified in educational leadership with an Add-on master's Certification from Georgia State University and am currently a doctoral candidate in educational leadership at Valdosta State University.
