Rene Mantilla has over 30 years of experience in education and holds degrees from Florida State University, Florida International University, and Nova Southeastern University. He is currently the Assistant Superintendent for the Office of Postsecondary Career and Technical Education and has championed the Career Pathways Initiative since 2011. Rene has expanded career technical education opportunities for secondary and postsecondary students, creating new programs throughout Miami-Dade County by partnering with local government, businesses, and organizations. He is committed to the local community and has held various membership positions in entities such as the Aviation Technician Education Council and the Board of Directors for Greater Miami Aviation Association. Rene is also a proud U.S. Veteran who actively served in Iraqi Freedom and received the Army Commendation Medal.
