Dr. Miladys Cepero-Perez is a passionate instructional leader with over 26 years of experience in the K–12 educational system. Her educational philosophy centers on the belief that research-based pedagogical practices are key to advancing student achievement and fostering sustained teacher professional growth.
Throughout her multifaceted career, Dr. Cepero-Perez has served as a K–5 classroom teacher, turnaround instructional coach, curriculum specialist, professional learning designer, staff developer, college professor, and certified school administrator. She is also a National Board-Certified Teacher, in recognition of her unwavering commitment to teaching excellence.
Dr. Cepero-Perez is deeply invested in the strategic use of technology to enhance classroom instruction and support educational development. As a member of Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ (M-DCPS) AI Credential Cohort 1, she is at the forefront of exploring how artificial intelligence can improve the quality of life for educators—saving time, increasing instructional efficiency, and acting as a 24/7 virtual instructional coach. Her work emphasizes how AI can support personalized learning and reduce the daily burdens educators face, allowing them to focus more on high-impact teaching.
Currently, her research focuses on the influence of school leaders who champion professional learning and how that leadership supports teacher retention and instructional innovation. Dr. Cepero-Perez continues to advocate for systems that empower educators, integrate emerging technologies, and build supportive, driven school cultures where teachers and students thrive.
