Marcus Ortega is the Director of Student Services, Projects & Initiatives for Miami Dade College (MDC). Marcus formally served as Executive Director at Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS). He oversaw the initiating, planning, organizing, administering, and supervising of all activities and functions that were essential to the operation of a responsive and effective brand development and community outreach for School Choice & Parental Options, the school choice division of M-DCPS. Mr. Ortega brings over 20 years of marketing and recruitment experience to MDC. Marcus has a passion for education and reaching underserved communities through methodically planned marketing campaigns. His current role includes overseeing enrollment growth through key partnerships, community initiatives, and scholarship programs, and assuring high-quality student services at Miami Dade College. He draws inspiration from knowing education is the most empowering force a student can ever possess. Marcus is a Cuban-American native of Miami who loves spending time with his family exploring beaches throughout Florida.
