Meet Mrs. Magda R. Pereira, an experienced instructional leader with 26 years of service in M-DCPS. As the Administrative Director of the Office of School Choice & Parental Options, she brings a unique perspective to promoting equity in education, particularly for underrepresented students.

Mrs. Pereira leads a team of innovators who are responsible for overseeing 380 programs in 119 schools. They aim to provide equity, access, and inclusivity through Equity Improvement Cycles (EIC). As the Project Director of the STArts and STArts2 initiatives, she strives to transform five K-8 schools into innovative STEAM exploratory learning environments. Through these projects, Mrs. Pereira fosters creativity and passion through the arts while bridging the educational equity gap and designing K-16 STEAM curricular pipelines that prepare M-DCPS students for college and career pathways.
