Prior to Joining Discovery Education, Nafisa Basir worked in New York City Public Schools as an Educator and Administrator. Her work in public, private, and charter schools included being a founding educator for a charter school in Harlem. Nafisa also led the opening of new school sites for a multi-state Ed Tech System in New York City, as well as serving as Principal. Nafisa has been in education for over 20 years working as an educator, Dean, and district level Administrator. She is currently the Executive Manager of Strategic Partnerships for Discovery Education, supporting Miami-Dade County Public Schools and New York City Public Schools.

Nafisa earned her M.S. Ed. in Executive Leadership School Building Leaders and School District Leaders from CUNY Brooklyn College.
